Left and bottom margins contain printed numbers originating at 0 at the bottom left of graph paper. 1 - 24 ascending upward on the left, 1 - 18 from left to right on the bottom.

Written in the left margin, sideways, "SEE STRAIGHGRAPH RECORD". The top line of text, above the sketch, has a squiggled, downward pointing arrow and "WEST WALL.." Below that "DATUM LINE TAKEN FROM NE CORNER" with a dotted line extending to the right with the another squiggled, downward pointing arrow and the text, "NORTH WALL."
Below that, on the left, is a short vertical line with "12", with a horizontal arrow extending to the right to "52" and another horizontal arrow extending to a vertical line with "1'2"" next to it. Immediately below those is a horizontal line extending half way across the page, when it turns to a slightly diagonal line. This line has tufts of grass, representing the ground surface.

Next to the left margin is an "A", indicating excavation level A, with a "10" " next to it, indicating that level is 10" deep. A light line continues to the right indicating the extent of that level.

Below that section, a "B" in the margin indicates excavation level B. A dotted line curves to the right, indicating the depth of level B.

"C" appears in the left margin below that, with a "C1". This is excavation level C1. It has a solid line which extends to the right.

Below that is level C2, which is similar to the above. There are a series of semi legible numbers along the line that likely indicate depth.

C3 is a short, somewhat triangular section extending only partially into the excavated area.

C4 is 5" deep

Level D contains a shaded area with several sets of numbers along its borders. The meanings are unclear. An arrow touching the shaded area reads "MAJOR MATERIAL IN SHADED AREA. SEE ATTACHED DRAWING ENLARGEMENT OF MIDDEN AREA -> B55:8" Under the shaded area, an arrow indicates "SMALL SHERDS RECOVERED 6'11" ".

To the right, and arrow points upward to the bottom line of the sketch "SLOPE 0/ GROUND LEVEL B55-B SEE ATTACHED DRAWING."

Along with bottom edge of the sketched area are cross hatch lines with the text "UNEXCAVATED."

Following the bottom line, as it slopes up and tow the right, arrows point out a rectangular area, "SOIL MOTTLED LIGHTER GRAY THAN LAYER CONTAINING POTTERY."

Above that, another arrow and, "POTTERY CONTAINED LAYER VERY THIN."

Finally, above that and arrow and, "BURNED DITCH INDICATION."

In the bottom margin, about 3" from the edge, "PROFILE B55-B W:I." Next to that, aligning with the lower right corner, "B55-B 7/13/66 West Wall PROFILE."
