Description
This large, thin-walled redware cup was thrown on a potter’s wheel. To achieve the brown exterior and yellow interior, white slip was applied to the cup’s interior while a manganese oxide glaze was applied to the exterior. A number of incised and raised lines decorated the cup near the base and rim.
This pieces of this restored cup were recovered from feature B55, Rudolph Christ’s Waster Dump #2. It is marked B55-C10-26 on the base in black ink.
Dimensions: 6.375” tall, 4. 25” dia. rim, 4.75” dia. base.
