Description
This redware porringer is coated on the inside and out in white slip. The piece was thrown on a potter’s wheel. The rim is slightly flared, and two incised lines decorate the exterior and mark the upper handle attachment point. The body Because it was never glazed, it is likely this piece was broken either during the first firing, or immediately after.
The porringer was restored by Archaeologists using pieces recovered from feature B55, Rudolph Christ’s Waster Dump #2. Each piece is marked B55-C15 in black ink.
